Why Does Shower Set Off Fire Alarm

A shower may set off a fire alarm because hot steam, mist, and tiny water droplets can move from the bathroom into the alarm sensing chamber. The shower itself does not create smoke, but dense moisture can be detected like airborne particles by some smoke detectors, especially photoelectric alarms.
